BR man, 24, arrested in February shooting


Baton Rouge Police have arrested a man accused of shooting someone three times after taking his car and laptop, an arrest warrant says.

Courtney Maques Forman, 24, 2013 Martin Ave., allegedly shot the victim after ordering him out of his own car at 1662 E. Walker Court about midnight Feb. 27, the warrant says.

The victim had given Forman and another man a ride in his car when they made several stops, including one where the men put the victim’s laptop in Forman’s car, the warrant says.

Forman allegedly then drove the victim’s car to an apartment building on East Walker Court where the shooting occurred. The victim was hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries.Forman was arrested Friday after the victim identified him by name as his assailant, the warrant said.

He was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on counts of armed robbery and attempted first-degree murder.
Police investigate reported shooting

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 6648 Rio Drive, near LSU Earl K. Long Medical Center, late Sunday to investigate a reported shooting.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said a victim from the incident was receiving treatment at a hospital. The Sheriff’s Office plans to release more information on the incident today, Hicks said via e-mail.

Authorities book 13 in suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least 13 people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 3 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Sunday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:
  • William Perry Fredericks, 25, 147 Roy Fredericks Road, Natchitoches, first-offense DWI, possession of alcohol in a vehicle, reckless operation of a vehicle and possession of marijuana.
  • Ignacio Elias Barrios, 34, 8686 Coy Ave., No. 2, first-offense DWI, improper lane usage, driver’s license required and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States.
  • Kevin Johnson, 33, 1754 Greenwell Springs Road, Greenwell Springs, second-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle, one-way street violation, hit and run, aggravated flight from officer, resisting an officer and disobeying a red light.
  • Atilano Xochilt, 26, 5600 Carmichael Road, Montgomery, Ala., first-offense DWI, improper lane usage, driver’s license required and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States.
  • Nixon Miguel Alvizures, 19, 424 Helarich, Houston, first-offense DWI, headlights required and reckless operation of a vehicle.
  • Dameon Maurice Mayberry, 46, 1117 Trinity Lane, Houston, first-offense DWI, simple obstruction of a public highway, reckless operation of a vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and misrepresentation during booking.
  • Gerald William Middleton, 21, 2045 N. 3rd St., No. 407, first-offense DWI, aggravated criminal damage to property, reckless operation of a vehicle, hit and run, insurance required and inspection sticker expired.
  • Stephen Willis Ledet, 39, 2181 Glendale Ave., first-offense DWI, obstruction of public passage, reckless operation of a vehicle and drinking in a motor vehicle.
  • Kimberli Shalette Mason, 28, 1930 Faith Ave., Baker, first-offense DWI and speeding.
  • Christina M. Gonzalez, 22, 19456 Kellywood Court, second-offense DWI and driving left of center.
  • Arnold Ray Griffin, 72, 6986 Hanks Drive, first-offense DWI, obstruction of a public passage and reckless operation of a vehicle.
  • Rose Marie Parker, 30, 7824 Somerset St., first-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle, driver’s license not in possession, possession of marijuana and obstruction of a public passage.
  • Kevin James Johnson, 23, 1463 Napoleon St., first-offense DWI, turns not allowed, reckless operation of a vehicle and driver’s license suspended or revoked.
