Fraternities raise funds for Alzheimer’s
The third annual Sammy Slam Dodgeball Tournament Saturday on LSU’s campus raised an estimated $5,000 or more for Alzheimer’s research, a spokesman said.
Almost two dozen teams of six members each competed for the title of Dodgeball Champion, which ultimately was won by Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, said Ari Krupkin, the treasurer for Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity, which organizes the charitable tournament. The event, which Krupkin said was voted best philanthropy on campus last year, is expected to raise more than $5,000 to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
LSU’s Epsilon Eta chapter of Sigma Alpha Mu uses the tournament to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association, which is the charitable organization the national fraternity encourages its chapters to support.
