Nick Heasley practices with his new long bow Tuesday at the Highland Road Park archery targets. He received the bow as a Christmas gift. Heasley has used a compound bow for almost 10 years, and he wanted a new challenge. He said the long bow is more difficult to aim and requires more practice.

Marcus Anderson, 6, feeds the birds Tuesday afternoon at City Park Lake. Anderson was with his aunt and cousins who were enjoying the warmer weather. Temperatures dropped considerably later in the day and were expected to fall below freezing during the night, according to the National Weather Service.
