West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Garrett Reeves, 21, helps to reopen I-10 westbound Sunday night at Port Allen at the La. 415 detour. The highway had been closed since Nov. 15 when a natural gas well being drilled about 100 yards from an elevated portion of the interstate blew out and caught fire near Ramah.

Krotz Springs police officers and St. Landry Parish sheriff’s deputies wait Sunday afternoon for the arrival of Louisiana State Police at an accident on U.S. 190 westbound. A blowout caused a Ford F-150 pickup to roll over. No one was seriously injured in the wreck along the detour route from the I-10 closure.
