Most parade goers Saturday morning put on their favorite green T-shirt or muumuu before staking out a prime spot along the St. Patrick’s Day parade route. Revelers lined the parade route, clamoring for trinkets and beads, plastic cups and the occasional stuffed animal. The Lady Tigers' fifth consecutive appearance in the Final Four ended in heartbreaking fashion. Alexis Hornbuckle's putback basket with 0.7 seconds to go gave Tennessee a 47-46 victory against LSU. The basket accounted for Hornbuckle's only two points of the game and gave the Lady Tigers their fifth loss in as many tries in the national semifinals.

Regardless of the seed of the opponent and the later-than-usual tip-off, LSU All-American center Sylvia Fowles said that’s never a reason to deviate from their system of play. “You have to play to the best of your ability,” Fowles said. “It’s not about the opponent or who you’re playing. Long dresses in black and red certainly had their place at the 2008 Inaugural Ball, but it was first lady Supriya Jindal in a one-shoulder eggplant gown who was the belle of the ball. The affair was an elegant one, with Gov. Bobby Jindal and other politicos making their grand entrance at the Baton Rouge River Center down a red carpet leading to the dance floor and stage.

John Brady's Tenure
John Brady’s tenure as the LSU men’s basketball head coach is over, two university board members have confirmed. With nine games left in the regular season of his 11th at LSU, the 53-year-old Brady was fired Thursday after a meeting with athletic director Skip Bertman.

The second-ranked LSU Tigers danced, dodged and darted their way into the end zone Monday night for a 38-24 victory, turning the BCS title game into a horrible replay for No. 1 Ohio State. Playing at their home-away-from-home in the Big Easy, the Tigers (12-2) became the first two-loss team to compete for the title.
