LAKE CHARLES — Although Hurricane Gustav forced the No. 24 LSU volleyball team to cancel its home tournament this weekend, the Tigers made the most of being a late addition to the McNeese Invitational with a 3-0 victory over Nicholls State (25-12, 25-23, 25-18). Football is a way of life in Baton Rouge just like many other college towns in the United States, particularly in the South. LSU’s football game against Troy, which was scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday in Tiger Stadium, has been postponed because of the effects of Hurricane Gustav.
