Ida could damage citrus, sugar cane crops NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Gusty winds, high tides and heavy rainfall associated with Tropical Storm Ida could affect southeast Louisiana’s citrus and sugar cane crops. Jindal: Ida impact to be felt most on southernmost part of La. Gov. Bobby Jindal said today that Tropical Storm Ida’s effects in Louisiana are expected to be limited to isolated flooding and wind damage.
