Hornets fall again in San Antonio SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs’ Big Three came through. Now they have to win one on the road to keep their title defense alive. Manu Ginobili scored 25 points, Tim Duncan had 20 points and 15 rebounds, and Tony Parker added 15 points in the Spurs’ 99-80 victory over the New Orleans Hornets in Game 6 on Thursday night. Tip-off set for Thursday’s game NEW ORLEANS — The tip-off for Game 6 between the Hornets and the Spurs on Thursday night in San Antonio was set for 8 p.m. after the Detroit Pistons completed a 4-1 series victory with a 91-86 victory against Orlando on Tuesday. Series shifts to N.O. NEW ORLEANS — The Hornets know that home teams have been nearly unbeatable in the NBA conference semifinals. They also know that it’s going to take a lot more than homecourt advantage for them to beat the Spurs in Game 5 of their Western Conference series at 8:30 p.m. today in the New Orleans Arena. Hornets lament lack of defense NEW ORLEANS — The Hornets knew they would take the Spurs’ best shot in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinal series. The defending NBA champions were back home and in desperate need of a victory after losing the first two games in New Orleans. So the fact San Antonio played like a champion and got its much-needed win in Game 3 on Thursday night isn’t surprising. What is surprising is the fact that the Spurs scored 110 points in doing so.
