"We've always wanted to play music full time, even when we were in college. We had been discussing how we wanted to go full time when we graduated." guitarist Daniel Wheeler said.

"Traitor" is the kind of movie so many of us yearn to see: It's intense and intelligent, has something to say without being pedantic and presents complicated issues without condescending. It even boasts a solid cast, led by Don Cheadle (who is also a producer) and including Guy Pearce and Jeff Daniels. So why does this film feel more than a bit off?

There are some things you can count on. Radio station formats are not among them. Sure, some stations establish a niche and stick with it. But others, fighting to survive in the Darwinian world of airwave ratings, are apt to change programming the way Nick Saban changes team loyalties. (It’s Friday: He’s still at Alabama, right?)

Slick and sharp are probably the best words to describe the visual feel of Madden NFL 2009. As for the gameplay itself, fluidity is a good adjective because player movements are much smoother this time around.

Jarret Schecter is a New York City photographer who “strives to bring visual awareness to adverse and largely poverty-induced, sociopolitical issues. He was drawn to the post-Katrina devastation in New Orleans about a year ago for presumably those reasons. What he found when he pointed his camera here and there in the Lower Ninth Ward is represented in a new art book, Katrina Personal Objects (Trolley Books, $19.99), edited by Francesca Sorrenti.

In all my days of watching fights I cannot remember seeing a more exciting start to a night of fights. Chris Pham began the night with a knockout that will be on his highlight reel for the rest of his career. That first fight lasted only nine seconds. The action didn’t stop there for the 18 fights Saturday night. Out of the 18 fights only two went to a decision with the theme of the night being Technical Knockouts and Triangle Chokes.
