How to place an engagement or wedding announcement in The Advocate newspaper This page provides the forms to place wedding and engagement announcements in The Advocate. To use the forms, go to a hyperlink above and click, print the form and fill in the information. You also may pick up a wedding/engagement packet at 7290 Bluebonnet Road. If you live out of town, call 225.383.1111 or 800.960.6397, to obtain a form. Return forms to our Bluebonnet office or mail to: The Advocate Engagements and weddings appear only in The Advocate. Both engagement and wedding photographs must be color prints, no smaller than wallet-size. All photos must be vertical or be suitable to be cropped to a vertical format. (The Advocate reserves the right to publish only the bride-elect’s or bride’s photo if the picture provided does not meet the required format.) Noon Monday is the deadline for submission of weddings and engagements for publication the following Sunday. Bridal photographs should be submitted with the wedding form. Engagements are eligible to run beginning the Sunday after the engagement takes place until the Sunday before the wedding. However, any engagements that run the weekend before the wedding are done so with the understanding that they cannot be rerun in case of error. There is no charge for publication of engagement and wedding announcements. Most wedding and engagement photos may be picked up on Monday following publication in The Advocate. They will be kept on file for three months after publication. After that, they will be discarded automatically. The Advocate is not responsible for any photos that are lost. |
