This page provides the forms to place wedding and engagement announcements in The Advocate. To use the forms, click on a hyperlink above and fill in the information on the form. To submit the form online, save the file to your computer and go to http://nuptials.theadvocate.com/ to upload the file and your photo (in jpeg format). You may also fill out the form in the lobby of The Advocate at 7290 Bluebonnet Blvd.

Engagements and weddings appear only in the Sunday People Section of The Advocate. Engagements are eligible to run anytime from the Sunday after the engagement until the Sunday before the wedding. However, in case of an error, engagement announcements that run the weekend before the wedding cannot be rerun. Therefore, it is advisable to run announcements at least two weeks in advance. Wedding announcements are eligible to run beginning the Sunday after the wedding. Pictures and forms should be submitted together. Couples have the choice of running either a picture of the engaged couple or just the bride-to-be with their engagement announcement and the same choice, the married couple or just the bride, with their wedding writeup. Couples’ pictures must be vertical or be suitable to be cropped to a vertical format.

Monday at noon is the DEADLINE for announcements to run the following Sunday. There is a $50 charge for each wedding or engagement announcement. Payment must be received by Tuesday at noon.  Payment can be made with a credit card by calling (225) 388-0738 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Payment with cash or check can be made in the lobby of The Advocate at 7290 Bluebonnet Blvd.

Announcements submitted will be edited to conform to The Advocate’s style and policy. Photos will be cropped as needed to conform to The Advocate’s announcement size and format.

Photos that are dropped off or mailed in will be kept on file for three months after publication. After that, they will be discarded automatically. The Advocate is not responsible for any photos that are lost.
