Glasgow student designs top poster

Jenny Wang of Glasgow Middle School in Baton Rouge won Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s first statewide poster design contest for students in seventh through 12th grade.

Wang’s design will be featured as a poster that will be displayed in all 84 Louisiana Field Offices of Motor Vehicles. She is also being awarded $500.

The runners-up will also receive awards for their designs. 

They are:

-- Second place: Cayla Zeek, St. Thomas More High School, Lafayette.

-- Third place: Jenny Zhang, Glasgow Middle School.

-- Most creative: Emma McKay, Ascension Episcopal School, Lafayette.

‘Diner’ theater served up

The University Laboratory School High School Choir will recreate the heyday of Louisiana’s diners and drive-ins with “Rolling Back the Decades.”

The dinner theater production includes a variety of nostalgic hits from the 1950s through the 1970s, delivered in a diner setting along with food.
