Visit the vegetable and flower garden daily to look for any signs of trouble.
Tomato blooms may fail to set due to cool nighttime temperatures.
Week 2
Look for carpenter bees in decks, porches and unfinished wood.
Slime mold in the lawn can be washed away with the garden hose.
Treat broadleaf weeds in the lawn with an approved herbicide.
Week 3
Begin treating pets and their environment for fleas.
Wash and refill humming bird feeders weekly.
Look for dark spots on the bottom of tomatoes, a sure sign of calcium deficiency.
Week 4
Watch out. Bugs love house plants on the patio.
Feed hibiscus plants with a balanced plant food.
