Week 2
Apply systemic insecticide to protect River Birch and Crepe Myrtle trees.
Watch for Brown Patch Disease in the lawn.
Weather-permitting, set out spring vegetable plants.
Week 3
Fertilize lawn grasses as they begin to break dormancy and green up.
Treat for infestations of snails and slugs.
Hang out a clean humming bird feeder with a small amount of nectar.
Week 4
Watch for cut-worm damage among seedlings and small plants.
Set aside an area for plants that attracts humming birds and butterflies.
Try planing a small, fruited variety of tomato in a hanging basket.
