Clearing my desk last week, I ran across the notes I had jotted down during a talk at the Women’s Week Kick-Off Luncheon in September. The keynote speaker, Lisa Bull, spoke on the topic “Opportunity Knocks — R U Ready?”
Bull maintained that opportunity is a given. It happens all the time, but when it is presented to us, we don’t always see it or act on it. We only see what we are looking for, Bull said.
Her advice is to discover just what it is in your life that you really want and know why you want it. Once those parameters are established, you’ll be better able to identify opportunities and act on them, Bull explained.
Not to trivialize Bull’s ideas, after all I did write them down to think about and maybe share, but sometimes I have immediate goals. Many a weeknight I need inspiration for what to cook for dinner when I get home. If high on your list of things you really want (for tonight, at least) is a quick-fix dinner recipe, try this one.
