CorningWare wants “lite” recipes just in time for post-New Year’s Day diet resolutions. Top prize is $5,000.

Contestants have until Dec. 31 to enter original, low-fat, low-calorie baking recipes in the CorningWare SimplyLite Recipe contest.

Nonprofessional home cooks, ages 18 and older, should submit an original baking recipe, sweet or savory, with ingredients that are low in fat and calories. Recipes should conform to 1.5-quart, 2-quart, 2.5-quart or 3-quart baking dishes.

The winning recipes will be selected at a bake-off at New York’s Institute of Culinary Education in January.

Go to http://www.corningware.com to see the official rules and to register.

Send holiday baking recipes with walnuts

The California Walnut Board’s holiday baking contest is looking for the best walnut recipes. The contest has four food categories, and winners get a KitchenAid Mixer.

This is an online entry-only contest and concludes Dec. 4.
