Covington Farmers Market for Oct. 29, 2009
COVINGTON — The Covington Farmers Market is open, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday on the side lawn of City Hall, 609 N. Columbia St. It also is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Covington Trailhead, 419 N. New Hampshire.
For this Saturday’s cooking program, St. Benedict Church Lunch Ministry will offer recipe samples and sell its cookbook to raise funds for shut-ins and the infirm.
Among vendors’ offerings will be tomatoes, zucchini, squash, radishes, broccoli, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, carrots, sweet potatoes, lettuces, mushrooms, shrimp, crabs, oysters, dairy products, eggs, honey, herbs, baked goods, prepared foods, blended teas, freshly roasted coffee beans, and locally raised beef, chicken and quail.
Live music will be provided by The Leisure Kings, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
