Blueberry cooking contest scheduled

CLINTON — The Red, White & Blueberry Festival sponsored by Clinton Main Street will hold a blueberry cooking contest at 9 a.m. Saturday at Feliciana Harvest Church on St. Helena Street in downtown Clinton.

Dishes must include two cups of blueberries. Entrants must also bring two copies of the recipe accompanying each dish.

Winners will be announced at 11 a.m. Categories for blueberry dishes include breakfast foods, desserts, jams and jellies and other. First prize is $100.

LCI sets leisure class  on desserts July 18
The Louisiana Culinary Institute, 10550 Airline Highway, is offering a leisure cooking class on “Quick and Easy Plated Desserts” from noon to 4 p.m. July 18.
