- Thanksgiving: History, Myth, and Faith: 9:40 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., University Presbyterian Church, 3240 Dalrymple Drive, an adult class that will spend November looking at Thanksgiving, its origins — both mythic and historical — and the uneasy relationship between faith and civil religion implicit in the holiday.

- Tent Revival: 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Stevendale Baptist Church, 16545 Old Hammond Highway, with the Rev. Aubrey Foster as evangelist. The revival will continue with services at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
- WELCOMING A NEW PASTOR: 10:45 a.m., First Baptist Church of Denham Springs, 308 N. River Road, Denham Springs. The Rev. Keith Sewell comes to Denham Springs from Dothan, Ala., where he served as assistant pastor at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He and his wife, Hope, have three children, Ruthie Grace, 6, Tobin Wallace, 4 and Lilly Catherine, 10 months.
- Kirking of the Tartans: 10:45 a.m., Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, 9340 Florida Blvd., with the St. Andrew Society and the Baton Rouge Caledonian Pipes and Drums leading a procession in full Scottish regalia. After worship, there will be a performance of Scottish social dances and a fish fry with an $8 fee and $20 cap per family.
