Mayor’s expo

Mayor Kip Holden is hosting the Mayor’s Neighborhood Expo, offering all kinds of info, from navigating City-Parish departments to problem solving.

WHEN: 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

WHERE: BREC Administration Building, 6201 Florida Blvd.

DETAILS: The Department of Public Works, the Baton Rouge Police Department, the Parish Attorney’s Office and the Planning Commission will hold workshops on government assistance to answer questions. Informational booths will be provided by organizations involved with area neighborhoods, including the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhoods, the Downtown Development District and Baton Rouge Green.

Women and finance

The Women’s Council inaugurates its Women’s Business Center with a course on “Women and Finance.”

WHEN: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
