STYLE FILE: Noelle Gabehart

  • Published: Jun 30, 2009

Chic and cool seem to be the watchwords of the subject of this week’s “Style File,” where we catch people out and about.

NAME: Noelle Gabehart, Baton Rouge
AGE: 29
OCCUPATION: Seventh-grade teacher at Dutchtown Middle School.

Tell us about what you’re wearing.
“A French Connection top and AG Jeans from A Finer Pointe in New Roads, shoes from Nine West, a Dooney & Bourke purse and Vera Bradley sunglasses.”

Describe your style.
“I like to be comfortable, but I want to look good every day. I want to feel good about how I look.”

Are you a shoes or handbag kind of woman?
“Shoes.”

How many pairs?
“Twenty to 30 pairs. But I just got rid of a bunch, so these are ones I really wear.”

Heels or flats?
“I’d say 95 percent of the time I wear heels.”

What’s your favorite trend in fashion right now?
“I love dresses. I’m usually wearing one. I like them both short and long.”

What trend do you wish was over?
“Crocs. I hate Crocs. I’m proud to say I’ve never owned a pair.”

Finish this sentence. I splurge on …
“Everything. I tend to save my money to buy nice things, like designer jeans or a nice top or like Chanel makeup. It costs a lot, but it lasts forever.”

I skimp on …
“Costume jewelry. But nice costume jewelry.”

Name the celebrity whose closet you would like to raid.
“Eva Mendez.”

If you were stranded on a desert island, what beauty product would you have to have?
“Chanel Nude Topaz lipstick and gloss.”

Make us laugh. Tell us about a fashion mistake.
“I wore high-waisted jeans — and I mean high-waisted — in the late ’90s.”
