  • ‘DREAMS’ AUDITIONS: The Arts Council of Baton Rouge is looking for young actors experienced in jazz, hip-hop, gymnastics and tap dance. Rehearsals  for specific age groups are scheduled Wednesday through Friday at the Baton Rouge Community College dance studio in the Health and Wellness Center, 5310 Florida Blvd. Call (225) 344-8558.
  • HONORING KING: Southern University professor Charles Vincent will provide commentary of Martin Luther King’s 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech during a program focusing on African-American heroes. The event is set 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the East Baton Rouge Parish Baker Branch Library, 3501 Groom Road.
  • SEND AN INVITATION: Learn how to create a birthday party invitation using Microsoft Publisher at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the East Baton Rouge Parish Delmont Gardens Branch Library, 3351 Lorraine St. Register by calling (225) 354-7060. For ages 8-11.

  • HONORING KING No. 2: At 2:30 p.m. Saturday the 58-minute “At the River I Stand” documentary detailing the 1968 sanitation workers strike in Memphis, Tenn., and Martin Luther King’s assassination will be shown at the East Scotlandville Branch Library, 7373 Scenic Highway.
