Oh, Brothers!

Friends, from left, Laura McKowen, 15, Emily Prevot, 14, and Madeline Blackwood, 14, are huge fans of the Jonas Brothers. They collect magazines with the brothers’ photos, attend concerts and have learned everything they can about the band members. Prevot also has covered her bedroom with photos.

Teenagers Emily Prevot, Laura McKowen and Madeline Blackwood worked three months on a scrapbook listing the 705 reasons why they love their favorite band.

Before a meet-and-greet with the band before a Dallas concert, Emily and Laura began shaking and, in their own words, “freaking out.”

The girls had caught a glimpse of Joe Jonas’ back and lost their cool.

Madeline decided she needed to take over and approached a stage manager, who promised to deliver the scrapbook.

First came Elvis and the Beatles.

Years later, New Kids on the Block,  *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys caused teenage girls to seemingly lose all control.

The latest boy band to cause Baton Rouge teens to scream, cry and even fall down is the Jonas Brothers — Nick, 15, Joe, 19, and Kevin, 20.

After playing smaller venues like Blue Bayou Water Park, The Jonas Brothers, who really are brothers, got their break  thanks to Disney and a place on Miley Cyrus’ “Hannah Montana” tour.

On a recent summer morning, the Jonas Brothers’ latest single “Burnin’ Up” played on Emily’s iPod. The three girls, who all attend University High School, jumped up to imitate the dance the brothers do on stage — all while surrounded by photos of the brothers.

Emily has plastered her walls and ceiling with all sizes of posters, some smaller than a credit card. A mobile that was a school project hangs above her bed covered with pictures.

“The best part is it feels like they’re staring at you because they’re all around,” Emily said.

Laura said she fell off of a stool in her bedroom trying to tape posters to her ceiling.

“It’s OK because it’s all for love,” Emily said.
