Lee Leumas peels apart a record book from Redeemer Seton High School in New Orleans. Leumas, archivist for the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge, and her volunteers say they are doing what they can to save the records. ‘Everything we’ve read only says what to do after the first 48 hours,’ Leumas said. The records are stored in a freezer until they can be moved to the drying room at the Catholic Life Center. Leumas said she empties about 5 gallons of water a day out of the drying room dehumidifier.
