Bring your official ACT or SAT scores and a working high- school transcript to Southern University’s “College Night on the Bluff” and you could go home with a scholarship.
Thousands of dollars in scholarships will be offered to qualifying high school seniors during the 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 10 event in the Atrium of the Pinchback Engineering Building on the school’s Baton Rouge campus.
The scholarships will range in value and will be based on the student’s grade point average and standardized test score.
“We’re prepared to offer the best and brightest scholarships before they leave College Night,” said Tracie Abraham, head of Admissions and Recruitment at Southern.
Students interested in attending the university will be able to complete on-site applications and speak with instructors from various departments on campus. The first 75 participants will receive an application fee waiver.
“We want the students and their parents to know all the benefits that Southern has to offer,” Abraham said.
Students will be entertained by the Southern University Marching Band, cheerleaders, dance team and representatives from Greek-lettered organizations, who will also be available to talk with students.
Representatives from the athletic department will also be available to talk to the students.
Call (225) 771-2430.
