If a weekend retreat is what you’re looking for and you’d like to do it in the state, L’Auberge du Lac Casino Resort in Lake Charles might be the perfect place. With its hotel, casino, golf course, shops, pool and even “lazy river,” there is something for everyone.
Located on 242 acres of land, the resort caters to everyone from high rollers to families. The 26-story hotel has rooms, suites and villas with amenities such as plush robes, 32-inch television sets and high-speed Internet.
The 30,000-square-feet riverboat casino sits inside a glass dome and vaulted ceiling. It features more than 60 table games and 1,600 slots.
The pool has swim-up access to a bar and private cabanas for adults, while the lazy river is sure to keep the kids happy.
Golfing at the Tom Fazio-designed Contraband Bayou Golf Club is a treat for dads, while moms might enjoy a day being pampered at Spa du Lac or shopping at the promenade.
And if you’d like to plan around some entertainment, there are several shows scheduled at “Party by the Pool,” which kicks off with Everclear. The schedule is as follows:

Admission is free for ladies and $5 for men. Events are from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
On some nights, entertainment carries later into the night in the casino’s Jack Daniel’s Bar & Grill, from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. The schedule is as follows:
