When someone says “Bourbon Street,” most people think of the nightspots. But for others, the raucous corridor in the French Quarter leads to home.

Five such private and historic homes and their courtyards will open to the public 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, for the annual Treasures of Bourbon Street house tour sponsored by the non-profit Historic Bourbon Street Foundation.

The homes include:

  • 723 Toulouse St., home of Peter Yokum and Polly Anderson, a Spanish colonial townhouse built in the 1790s. It’s named after an early owner, Don Geronimo Hinard.
  • 729 Dumaine St., home of David and Bobbie Widdon, a Victorian shotgun cottage.
  • 728 St. Philip St., home of Leslie Perrin and Charles Ransdell, Creole cottage and former slave quarters.
  • 706 Barracks St., home of Jon Green, Creole cottage once used as a studio by John James Audubon.
  • 816 Gov. Nichols St., home of Michael and Ruth Burke, stucco-covered brick cottage dating from 1830.

Tickets are $15 and available only on the day of the tour at 723 Toulouse St. and 706 Barracks St. Ticket sales end at 3:30 p.m.
