Lafayette comes alive with music, good times

Festivals Acadiens et Creoles, which is several festivals rolled into one, will embrace downtown Lafayette this weekend, Oct. 9-11, with days and evenings of music, food and good times.
The giant festival, which is an effort to keep Cajun culture alive, kicks off Friday at noon in Parc Sans Souci with a Bach Lunch and then returns at 5:30 p.m. to Parc International with Feufollet & special guests, and continues at 7 p.m. with “A Cajun Country Homecoming” featuring Doug Kershaw, Jo-El Sonnier and Jimmy C. Newman.
The action happens non-stop Saturday and Sunday in Girard Park with the Festival de Musique, the Bayou Food Festival, The Louisiana Craft Fair, Louisiana Folk Roots, Culture Sur La Table and La Place des Petits.
