Jazz Fest

N.O. Jazz Fest returns to full seven days of music

This year’s New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, April 25-27 and May 1-4, is the first time the celebration has featured seven days of music since Hurricane Katrina.

The festival’s mix of  rock, jazz, country, blues, gospel, world beat and more will feature hundreds of musicians including The Neville Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffett, Tim McGraw, Santana, Sheryl Crow, Widespread Panic, Dr. John, Al Green, Diana Krall, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss and Irma Thomas.

Annually drawing tens of thousands of fans each day, the festival will again be held at the Fair Grounds Race Course, off Esplanade Ave.,  11 a.m.-7 p.m. daily with 11 stages of simultaneous music. Also included is a food fair with more than 100 varieties of Louisiana cuisine and a huge juried crafts show and sale.

Gate ticket prices are $50 per day April 25, 26 and 27; $40 May 1; $50 per day May 2, 3 and 4. All children’s tickets, ages 2-11, are $5. Advance tickets available for second weekend at discounted prices. For tickets call (800) 488-5252 or visit  http://www.ticketmaster.com.
