‘Bad Blood’ in Denham Springs

Gladiator Promotions presented “Bad Blood,” a boxing and mixed martial arts event Saturday, June 20, at the Northpark Assembly Center in Denham Springs.

The event was a combination of amateur and professional MMA and boxing. Local fighters were featured, as well as talented fighters from Texas and Mississippi.

Ultimate Fighting Championships’ veterans Rich “No Love” Clementi (32-14) from Slidell and Kyle Bradley (14-6-0) from Denham Springs were featured guests.

Bradley had his first UFC win at UFC 98 in Las Vegas where he defeated Phillipe Nover in the first round with a technical knockout.

Clementi’s contract has ended with the UFC, but he will fight Saturday, June 27, in Pennsylvania for the Ultimate Cage Fighting Championships. His bout is against former World Extreme Cage Fighting veteran Kyle Jensen (38-10-2).

Below are the results of the “Bad Blood” event in Denham Springs.

155 pounds, Amateur MMA

Blake Buxton (0-0), Adrenaline X MMA, Walker vs. Zack Gray (0-0), Rising Sun MMA, Friendswood, Texas

Round one began with explosive combos from both fighters, however, Buxton quickly took control of the bout. Gray delivered some hard leg kicks and went for a takedown, but in the end it wasn’t enough.

Buxton finished with an easy Rear Naked Choke submission in the second round.

Buxton was awarded the Fighter of the Night award and received $500.
