On Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Blackham Coliseum in Lafayette, Gladiators Academy hosted Collision at the Coliseum 4. All in all, it was a great night for fights with Gladiators going 5-1 overall and its amateurs showing up with an impressive 5-0. Gladiators improved their overall amateur record to 81-16. Cowboy Combat Club of Stillwater, Okla. also had an exciting showing going 2-0 for the night.

Main Event – Pro Bout

185 lbs. - Matt Brown (Gladiators Academy) vs. Chris “Triple Threat” Bell (Team Dog Pound)

Twenty-four hours before the fight was set to take place, Brown and Bell almost came to blows at the weigh-in.

When their bout finally started, both fighters were patient -- each looking to implement their respective game plan. The fighters exchanged some blows, and then locked into the clinch with the much taller Brown landing knees and a solid elbow to the face of Bell. Brown was winning the round until Bell landed some excellent combinations to make it even at the bell.

During the second round, Bell appeared to become more aggressive with every shot that Brown landed. Bell was able to get Brown around the waist and secure one of his signature moves with a nice body slam.

After the fight, both fighters appeared to put their differences aside to shake hands.
