There’s a new way to get your events information listed in the Magazine section calendars such as The Week in Arts and Book Events. You can do it all online at the newspaper’s Web site, http://www.2theadvocate.com. Once you are on the site, click on the “calendars” tab, then click on “new listing.” At that point you will be prompted to sign in or register a new account. If you don’t already have an account, you can create one in seconds. It’s free, and it’s easy. Once you have an account, an automated form will appear and will guide you through the process of keying in your information. You will be asked to select a category that is appropriate for your listing. For Magazine listings, categories will include “history,” “arts & crafts,” “libraries,” “talks & lectures,” “workshops & classes,” “dance,” “music,” “performing arts” and “visual arts.’ More specific subcategories are also listed. Readers are welcome to continue to submit events information by FAX, (225) 388-0351, or e-mail, magazine@theadvocate.com, but you may find the new process faster and easier.
You will get an automatic e-mail when your event is approved for online publication. Online events will be included in the appropriate listings within two weeks of their occurrence.

There is no charge for your announcement to appear in the paper and on the Web site, however, after you enter your information online you will be invited to upgrade it with addi-tional features for a small price. If you don’t want the upgrade, just click the “no thanks” button and it will be cleared to run free as is.
