The LSU Bachelor of Fine Arts Student Exhibition will be Monday-Friday, May 12-16, at the Alfred C. Glassell Jr. Exhibition Gallery in the Shaw Center, 100 Lafayette St.
A closing reception is 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 16.
This group exhibition features work in every medium from graduating seniors in the School of Art.

Children’s art show
Broadmoor Presbyterian Early Childhood Center displayed its annual art show April 22.
This year’s theme was Art for All Ages. Each student displayed original pieces of art, some representing interpretations of originals by such master artists as Georgia O’Keeffe, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko. Henri Rousseau and Georges Seurat. The mediums used by the young artists included chalk, oil pastels, watercolors, food coloring, markers, pencils, tempera and acrylic paints.
The preschool’s teachers are Anne Scott Pourciau, Sherry Beard and Cindy Abadie.
BR artists in N.O. show
Works by Baton Rouge artists Judi Betts, Kathy Bensabat, Yvette Creel, Louise Hansen and Marita Gentry were selected to show in the Louisiana Watercolor Society’s 38th annual International Exhibition.
The exhibit continues to May 30 at Place St. Charles, 201 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans. There will be an opening reception 3-5 p.m. Saturday, May 17.
Seventy-five watercolor paintings were selected from hundreds of entries for this juried watermedia competition by the judge and juror, Birgit O’Connor of Bolinas, Calif. O’Connor is the author of Watercolor in Motion and a national icon in the field of watermedia. Fourteen of the accepted works were painted by Louisiana artists.

At the State Archives
The exhibit The McIlhenny Family: Generations of Tabasco Sauce at Avery Island continues to June 30 in the Louisiana Room at the Louisiana State Archives, 3851 Essen Lane.
The exhibit showcases artifacts including the hood from the Tabasco Pontiac Grand Prix race car, items found during an archaeological dig on Avery Island, historic artifacts used for transporting peppers, and photographs of the Jungle Garden, a bird sanctuary and preserve located on the island.
