Symphony quartet will play for Mother’s Day

The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra’s Mother’s Day Lunch and Chamber Concert will be at noon today, May 11, at De La Ronde Hall, 320 Third St., Suite 201.

The featured quartet will be Borislava Iltcheva, violin; Aaron Farrell, violin; Matthew Daline, viola; and Ivan Lalev, cello.
Single tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children under age 13 with the purchase of an adult ticket.

Summer kids camp
Slots are still open for the Baker Little Theatre’s Summer Kids Camp at the theater, 3121 Van Buren St., Baker.

All sessions will be 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Session one is June 9-20; session two, July 7-18; and session three July 21-Aug. 1. Extended care is offered until 5 p.m. each day. Campers will participate in games, improvs and various creative activities in these two-week summer sessions.

Cost is $210 per session. Extended care is extra.

Fourth on the 4th
Tickets are on sale for the Manship Theatre’s Fourth on the 4th, which runs 6-10 p.m. Friday, July 4, on the fourth floor river terrace of the Shaw Center, 100 Lafayette St.

The river terrace offers views of the river and Baton Rouge’s annual fireworks display. There also will be food, cold drinks and live music.

Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for children age 12 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Only 300 reservations will be accepted and all must be pre-paid.

Spring Garden Tour
The second tour in the Friends of the Hilltop Arboretum’s Spring Garden Tour Series will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, May 18.
Featured will be gardens by David Freedman, 2883 E. Lakeshore Drive; Donna and Rene Esnard, 2866 Hundred Oaks Ave.; Renee and Brett Furr, 1955 Steele Blvd.; Claudia and “B” Brian, 1737 Silliman Drive; and Marcy and Greg Ellis, 8720 W. Fairway Drive.

There also will be a bonus tour 1-5 p.m. Sunday, June 22, featuring the garden of Linda and Tom Flynn, 4555 La. 966, St. Francisville.
