Shop for a Cause
Put your shopping muscle to work at Macy’s and help out local charities in its Shop for a Cause event.

DETAILS: Charities can register to participate, and customers can purchase a ticket to benefit a specific nonprofit organization at the above Shop for a Cause Web site. Macy’s donates shopping passes to participating charities, which in turn sell the passes for $5 each to shoppers. The organizations keep 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the passes, which can be used in stores or online for 20 percent off most men’s, women’s, kids and accessories merchandise, 10 percent off most home items and 25 percent off a single item. Some exclusions apply. Passes also will be sold at Macy’s and online with proceeds going to designated charities.
Army of golfers
Get out on the links and help the Salvation Army build a new facility that will include a shelter for mothers and children needing short-term help.

Big Buddy is gearing up for its 11th annual Day of the Mentor and needs help. Sign up to make a difference.

DETAILS: Mentors are matched with youngsters. The day begins with breakfast, followed by 2‰ hours at the mentor’s workplace and a luncheon.
