During the age of kings, queens, princes, princesses, and fairytale creatures, communication as we know it today did not exist.
Stories and traditions were passed down to new generations through story and song by one of the most influential and revered people of all: the storyteller. This summer, step back in time and journey to places around the world as Donald Lewis, Louisiana storyteller and keeper of tales, visits the Ascension Parish Library to share adventures of characters from here, there, and everywhere.

“Stories Here, There, and Everywhere with Donald Lewis” is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 20, in Donaldsonville and 2 p.m. Monday, July 20, in Gonzales. The program is free and open to the public and is intended for all ages. No registration is required.
For more information on this program or other library activities, contact the Ascension Parish Library, 500 Mississippi St. in Donaldsonville at (225) 473-8052 or 708 S. Irma Blvd. in Gonzales at (225) 647-3955.

Lewis’ programs are supported in part by funds from the Louisiana State Arts Council and the Louisiana Division of the Arts and by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge through the Decentralized Arts Funding Program.
