Designer will speak to fine art group

Laura Duplechin will be the guest speaker for the Monday, Aug. 4, meeting of the Denham Springs Fine Art Association.
Duplechin, who has 14 years of experience in interior design and flooring sales, will speak about the color pallet.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Denham Springs City Hall, 941 Government Drive.

Paintings by Paulette Ferguson, Frank Lamuth, Sandra Middleton, Neil Passman, Katherine Gayle, David and Eunice Phillips, Melba Ducote, Kerry Curtin, Letha Brignac and Teri Sullivan are on exhibit at Gallery 121.

Gallery 121 is located at 121 N. Range Ave.

Oil and acrylic, stained glass painting and children’s art classes are also available.

On view at the library
A wood carving exhibit is one of several things on view at East Baton Rouge Library branches.

The Woodcarver’s Guild is showcasing samples of woodcarving and whittling at the Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library, 9200 Bluebonnet Blvd.

A collection of natural and hand-made sea art and beads and beaded masks will be on display at the Jones Creek Regional Branch Library, 6222 Jones Creek Road.

The sea art is handcrafted by Judy Balliet and the beads are by the Baton Rouge Bead Society.

At SLU
The Southeastern Contemporary Art Gallery will exhibit photos and interviews of Vietnam veterans by photographer Jeff Wolin.

Memories and experiences are illustrated through Vietnam War: Portraits and Text, which will be displayed at the gallery in East Stadium through Aug. 28.
