Tickets are on sale for the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre’s fundraising gala Tutu Groovy Two — The Original ’60s Bash, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Dancers’ Workshop, 10745 Linkwood Court off Bluebonnet Boulevard.
The gala will feature an in-studio performance of the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre dancers, a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, dinner and drinks. This event serves as a kickoff of the ballet theatre’s 32nd season under the artistic direction of Molly Buchmann and Sharon Mathews.
This year’s gala will continue the tradition of casual fun and entertainment with a decisive 1960s flavor. The dance program will feature pieces from the ballet theatre’s Choreography Project, which encourages young dancers and gives them the opportunity to showcase their work. Costume mistress Polly Normand also will be honored for her years of service and dedication to the ballet theatre.
Tickets are $50 per person. Reservations should be made by Aug. 19.
