Of Moving Colors will host writer, director and producer Calvin Rowe’s premier work Bread and Water at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 17-18, at the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, 427 Laurel St.
Rowe is a native of Muscatine, Iowa, and moved to Louisiana last fall to work with Of Moving Colors. He has previously worked in theater and dance in Iowa, Mississippi, Mexico and India. His focus is creating original works that will question and inspire the idea of storytelling.
Bread and Water is a collaborative work with original lighting, set design and costuming by local artists. It is a blend of theater and dance, exploring the fluid connections of ordinary life, memory and dance.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted at the door. Reservations may be made online at http://www.ofmovingcolors.org.

Mozart on the lake
The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and Chef John Folse will celebrate the music of Mozart with a seated dinner at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 20, at White Oak Plantation, 17660 George O’Neal Road. The event will feature selections by Mozart performed by the orchestra.

At LSU
The Collegium Musicum Concert will be at 4 p.m. Monday, April 14, in the LSU School of Music Recital Hall.
Brian Kittredge is the group’s conductor.
At 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, The LSU Chamber Players will perform a faculty recital in the Recital Hall.
The LSU A Cappella Choir and Schola Cantorum will perform a concert at University United Methodist Church, 3350 Dalrymple Drive, at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15. Kenneth Fulton is the conductor of the A Cappella Choir and Brian Galante directs the Schola Cantorum. Laurelie Gheesling is the accompanist.
The LSU Faculty Concert will be performed at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, in the Recital Hall. The concert is part of the School of Music’s Pelican Series.
Performers will be Katherine Kemler, flute; James Ryon, oboe; Justin O’Dell, clarinet; Gabriel Beavers, bassoon; Kimberly Houser, harp; Lin He and Joanna Steinhauser, violin; Matthew Daline, viola; and Jee Yeoun, cello.
