The Port of New Orleans has a new Carnival ship, the 2,758-passenger Triumph.

The ship arrived Nov. 11 and replaces the 2,056-passenger Carnival Fantasy, which will now sail from Mobile, Ala. The ship’s new itinerary, which adds the eastern Caribbean and Bahamas, gives passengers sailing from New Orleans some new options. The Triumph will run a year-round schedule of four-, five- and seven-day departures, which began Nov. 14.

The four-day cruises will leave on Thursdays and stop at Cozumel. Five-day trips leave Mondays and Saturdays and visit Progreso and Cozumel, while seven-day voyages depart on Saturdays, and hit western Caribbean spots Belize City, Isla Roatan (Honduras) and Cozumel. East Caribbean trips call on Key West, Freeport and Nassau.

Triumph has 1,379 staterooms, 60 percent of which offer either an ocean view or balcony.
