Aristeia is an ancient Greek term loosely translated to mean a warrior's prowess or moment of glory.

“Aristeia,” the game produced by Joshua Wascom and Nicholas Scheurich, has two characters, a human warrior figure (called the Platformer) and a magical spirit (called the Artist).

The Artist guides the Platformer throughout the game. The Platformer, however, isn’t the only character in danger. Just like the warrior can be injured by a plethora of physical traps and adversaries, the spirit can also be harmed by swarms of mechanical insects among other unusual foes.

One player controls the Platformer, who can run, jump, and shoot. The other player guides the Artist character, which looks like a levitating mystical ball. This object uses different techniques to support the Platformer.

“Aristeia” does not require two players, but two players are strongly suggested. To get the true spirit of the adventure game, cooperation is key to survival.

The goal for both players is to destroy each level's crystals in order to move on to the next level. Other dangers and challenges in “Aristeia” include armored monsters, mysterious mists and a giant spider.
