Jewell J. Chubbuck says a friend sent her a clipping from The News & Observer in Durham, N.C., about how residents of one Durham neighborhood are dealing with speeders.
“We take care of our own problems,” wrote Jewell’s friend on the clipping.
The story, by Jim Wise, tells how signs have been erected in the neighborhood saying: “Warning: Speed Limit Enforced by Angry Neighbors with Paintball Guns.”
The signs are splattered with paintballs, further making their point.
“Our patience is at an end,” the vigilantes told Jim.
He added this thought: “Whether snipers are actually in position to fire their paint, now, as Dirty Harry said, you’ve got to ask yourself one question:
“ ‘Do I feel lucky?’
“Well, do ya …?”

Brittany DeVille says, “So many people around Baton Rouge have expressed concern about Halloween being the same night as the LSU-Tulane game.
“Our little Tiger fans can’t miss out on either of these events, so we are planning to do both!
“I thought maybe you could help spread the word to all those fine Tiger tailgaters that they may want to be prepared for the little ones doing a little trick or treating around campus!”
The biggest treat of all, of course, would be a Tiger victory …
