Dear Smiley: I am so proud of the LSU baseball team and their coach.

Good things do happen to good people.

And while they are giving out awards, I want to present one to the smartest LSU baseball player.

And that goes to Leon Landry.

Why? Well, in case you haven’t noticed, Leon is always the LAST one to jump on the dog pile.

I mean, really, team spirit is one thing, but to be on the BOTTOM?

Stoned in Omaha

Dear Smiley: I would like to nominate my brother-in-law Les Griffon for LSU baseball fan of the year.

Les had a kidney stone attack on the flight to Omaha the Sunday night before the College World Series.

He spent his first four hours in Omaha in the emergency room of the hospital.

He then sat through the next three LSU games with a stone lodged between his kidney and bladder.

He had the stone surgically removed on Thursday in Omaha.
