You might recall that in the Monday column I observed that my “current wife,” Lady Katherine, had charged me with putting an extra syllable in one of my hurricane haikus.

I defended myself by citing my Southern accent. She responds thusly:

Current wife not pleased
By Southernism lesson;
Will kick haiku butt.

Sincere thanks to those who offered condolences after the death of my grandson Landon.
