Pat Shingleton for October 16, 2009
With expectations that the front will slide through this morning, we also expect the cool air to stay with us for a few days. Our original prediction put Thursday as the day in which we would say goodbye to steamy weather. The last time we experienced a cool-down, such as this, was April 20, when the daytime high was 74. Another recent episode takes us back to May 17, as our daytime high was 75, followed by 77 on the following day. We’re targeting an overnight low tonight of 48, and the last time we slipped below the 50-degree mark was April 15, with an overnight low of 46 and a previous 44-degree low on April 14.
Fastcast: Cool.
Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 74. Northerly winds between 10 mph and 15 mph. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49. North winds around 5 mph.
