Pat Shingleton for October 10, 2009
Tiger Stadium has experienced one game of rain this season. A pre-kick-off shower could linger for the possible record crowd tonight. As mentioned in a previous article, I experienced only afternoon college football games in the Northeast. When my brother Mike was at Notre Dame, we were introduced to WWL and their broadcasts of LSU football from Tiger Stadium. In what my Mom called the “far-living-room,” we were glued to the “hi-fi,” finding ourselves right there, enthralled in the play-by-play. As we prepared for winter, I was amazed that LSU was playing “under the lights,” in 70 degree weather. I remember my brother hurling objects at the hi-fi as LSU, in all its glory, strapped it to the Fighting Irish.
Fastcast: Early showers.
Rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 p.m., then a chance of rain and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 77 degrees. North wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Tonight, a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 64 degrees. North wind around 5 mph.
