FACETS OF FAITH
Leila Pitchford-English grew up in the newspaper business, earning her first paycheck as a high-school football reporter and photographer.
While her full-time position at The Advocate is as a page designer, her work on the Faith & Values section and deep interest in religion led to writing the column Facets of Faith.
Most children in the United States act out or draw the first Thanksgiving at Plymouth Colony. They dress as Pilgrims and as Native Americans and create pictures of tables filled with turkey and other food.
Halloween and All Saints’ Day have deep religious layers, each added as a new culture came around.
