Cynthia V. Campbell is the travel editor for The Advocate and her weekly columns, Travel Louisiana and Travel Tips, appear in Sunday Magazine. She also writes the Getaways column for Fun.
A wanderer at heart, Cynthia finds Baton Rouge a great place for a journalist to pitch a tent. She received a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas in Austin. During the 1960s, she worked at the San Antonio Express-News as home and garden editor. Since joining Capital City Press in 1969, she has been a feature writer, music reviewer, lifestyle editor, assistant magazine editor and travel editor. She is also a member the Society of American Travel Writers.
Gentilly Terrace and Gardens in New Orleans observes its 100th anniversary Saturday, April 4. Residents and friends invite people to join them for a celebration 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Gentilly Terrace Elementary School.
