Lanes on I-110 are now open.
A wreck with injuries this morning at I-110 and Evangeline closed the Interstate for several hour.
Emergency Medical Services transported one person to a local hospital.
Three members of a Mississippi church held signs above Interstate 10 during rush-hour this morning protesting homosexuality.
The signs caused traffic on I-10 West to slow to a crawl at times as drivers looked up at the signs.
There were two signs for motorists to see.
One said, “Sodomy is Sin.” The other said, “Homosexuality is Perversion.”
The sign protest was held on a catwalk above the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 between the College Drive and the South Acadian Thruway exits.
This morning’s protest was put on by Britt Williams, pastor of the Consuming Fire Fellowship Church of Woodville, Miss.
The signs were held up by Williams’ son, Micah, and church member, Joel Gaskamp.
The pastor said members of the Baton Rouge Police Department and the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office stopped by to talk to them about what they were doing, but no one tried to arrest them or run them off.
