Walker man booked on obscenity count

A 23-year-old man who police say masturbated in front of a woman in the parking lot of the Salvation Army surrendered Tuesday.

Russell Eppinett was sitting in his truck at 7361 Airline Highway on June 18 when he exposed himself to a woman in the parking lot, an arrest warrant said.

The woman was shocked and dropped her cell phone, the warrant said. When she tried to pick it up, Eppinett drove his car over the phone, destroying it. The woman recorded Eppinett’s license plate number.

Eppinett, 13370 Friendship Road, Walker, was booked into Parish Prison on Tuesday on a count of obscenity and simple criminal damage to property, booking documents show.

His bond was set at $10,000.
