BRPD working two early morning homicides
The Baton Rouge Police Department is working two early morning homicides in Baton Rouge.
The first incident happened in the 2300 block of Kentucky Street between East Polk and East Buchanan Streets.
BRPD officers responded to a call of 'Shot Fired' at the location.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a black male in his 20's lying dead in the street of an apparent gun shot wound to the head.
BRPD Homicide Detectives are currently investigating.
The BRPD is reporting no suspects or motive at this time.
in the second incident BRPD officers responded to a call that someone had been shot at 3213 Iroquois Street.
When officers arrived on the scene they discovered a man who reported he had been struck multiple times with a pistol and another man had been shot Live Oak Street.
Officers responding to the Live Oak Street location found a black male deceased from an apparent gun hot wound to the head in an apartment building parking lot.
Homicide detectives arrived on the scene and contacted and detained an unnamed black male in an apartment at the scene.
The black male who reported being struck with a gun was transported to Baton Rouge General Mid City for treatment.
The BRPD considers this investigation ongoing.
